"A confirmed work-a-holic, I just have not put the time into developing a healthy exercise routine as I have in developing my business. With Tiger on my side, I know I can. She is a professional who understands how to motivate, and get me to where I want to be. She is always reminding me to put in the time I know I should. Tiger is a winner!" Nancy, age 56, Business Founder.

Nancy owns a cutting edge company. She's a brilliant and successful woman that employs 15 contractors. A personal trainer is the best way for her to fit fitness into her busy life. Without her health, Nancy would not be able to focus at the level and depth that she needs. And, without Nancy, 15 people would not have employment.

There's no other goal that is more valuable than your fitness and health. Your new level of fitness and health will bring you more energy and confidence for other important activities from a promotion at work to picking-up and keeping-up with your children or grandchildren.

When investing in your home or your health, it's important to make smart investments. So let me mention the top 3 components of selecting a great trainer for you.

Top 3 Components of a "Great" Trainer

Expertise in body movement, anatomy and progressive fitness programming
It's about working hard and smarter. Anyone can call themselves a trainer. However, only a skilled trainer will provide a customized and progressive program developed for your body. Every body is different and a "great" trainer will conduct a postural analysis, flexibility analysis, balance analysis, cardio analysis, and strength analysis in order to improve your posture, alignment and muscle balance as well as your physical appearance. This will provide quicker results and help to eliminate current pain and future pain.

Adaptability and Safety
A "great" trainer will be able to create a progressive program customized to your body. But nothing is ever perfect. Therefore, a "great" trainer will adapt exercises if you don't like certain exercises or can not do certain exercises. An arsenal of exercises will increase your program flow and decrease boredom. Doing the same exercises over and over is boring, can create muscle imbalances, and muscle imbalances create injuries. This brings us to the topic of safety. When we move, it's VITAL to keep the joints safe. A "great" trainer will watch your knees, shoulders, spine, wrists… Trainers should make sure you use proper form. Here's the tricky part. An "ok" trainer will catch some problems, but the problems that are missed could cause significant repetitious injuries. These injuries will show up in years, not days.

Here's the circle of a sad body. Repetitious movement with the wrong form or poor alignment can compromise your joints (soft tissue like ligaments and muscles) and lead to injury.

Poor Posture + Poor Posture = Injuries

A "great" trainer can create the circle of a happy body. And the differences between a happy body and a sad body are HUGE. Compare feeling great and having back pain or feeling great and having a torn rotator cuff. I think you get the point. You want to have a "great" trainer.

Identify imbalances + Correct imbalance = Create proper balances and posture + Avoid injuries

Personality
The third component of any relationship is the mix of chemistry or personality. For some people, chemistry is more important than others. Most importantly, I have a positive, "can do" attitude. I'm a libra, and I'm told that libras are very balanced and easy to get along with. This seems to be true for me. I have a knack for making people feel comfortable, motivating people and creating results for people. I obviously like to be moving, and I like to have fun. Take a look at my About Tiger page.
